List of Naga Delegation for Talks with Govt of India in Delhi on Aug 26

Ukhrul, August 21: The United Naga Council (UNC) has finalised its delegation for the forthcoming talks with the Government of India on the issue of scrapping the Free Movement Regime (FMR) and the proposed border fencing in Naga areas. The meeting is scheduled for August 26, 2025, in New Delhi at 11 AM.

Ng. Lorho – President, UNC

Samson Remei – Convenor, Working Committee, UNC

Vareiyo Shatsang – General Secretary, UNC

A.C. Thotso – Member Secretary, Working Committee, UNC

K.S. Paul Leo – Member, Working Committee, UNC

L. Adani – Member, Working Committee, UNC

Wango Kohring Victor – Speaker, UNC

Th. Angteshang Maring – President, All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur (ANSAM)

Isaac Charenamei – General Secretary, ANSAM

Ch. Priscilla Thiumai – President, Naga Women’s Union (NWU)

A. Hoibila Maram – General Secretary NWU

The strong team of Naga leaders will hold talks with Central leaders following a formal invitation extended on Wednesday by A.K. Mishra, Advisor (North East), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.

It can be recalled here that, on August 11, the “emergency presidential council meeting” of the United Naga Council (UNC) held in Senapati, participated by presidents of the “Naga tribe hohos” under the UNC, resolved to “announce the mode of agitation and modus operandi within the 15 days’ time”. The meeting was held on the issue of the abrogation of the Free Movement Regime (FMR) and the ongoing border fencing construction in “Naga ancestral homeland”. 

The Naga leaders will leave for New Delhi on August 25.
