Luangdimai Theological Forum Condemns ‘Cold-Blooded Barbarism’ in Killing of Six Naga Men

IMPHAL, JUNE 14: The Luangdimai Theological Forum (LTF) strongly and unequivocally condemned the “brutal and inhuman act of killing the six innocent Naga men by the Kukis, in which both civilians and armed militants were involved, who  captured them on the fateful day of May 13, 2026”.

The LTF said it has shattered on hearts deeply  to learn that they were butchered, maimed, dismembered beyond recognition. The  safe release of the 14 Kuki detainees were carried out in the Christian spirit of care  for humanity and peace towards our neighbours, and yet the Kukis’ gesture was seen as a betrayal to the Nagas in general and the Luangdimai in particular, without an iota of Christian principle, the LTF also said. “This unimaginable heinous crime towards our fellow  brothers is not only against humanity but also against God”, it astated, adding, “There can be no  justification for such cold-blooded barbarism, and our hearts are heavy with grief and outrages”. The LTF said it remains speechless to see such an act of complete disregard for the values of human dignity and Christian compassion.

The Luangdimai Theological Forum then extended its deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and loved ones who are enduring immeasurable pain and grief. “No words can adequately express the magnitude of this tragedy or fill the void left by those who have been taken from us. Do know that you do not bear this burden alone because we stand in solidarity with you during this difficult time. Your sorrow remains part of us and we will ever treasure those great souls. May God grant you strength, comfort, and peace, and may the souls of the departed rest in eternal glory”, it stated.

The LTF then called upon the competent authorities to initiate an immediate, impartial, and transparent investigation into this heinous crime. The LTF further said those responsible must be identified, apprehended, and brought to justice without delay. Accountability is essential, for impunity only perpetuates violence and hinders the path toward  reconciliation and healing, it added.

In this moment of profound grief and heightened tension, the LTF also “earnestly” appealed for peace, understanding, and mutual respect among all communities. It further urged civil society organizations, religious institutions, and community leaders to work collectively toward fostering unity, reconciliation, and lasting peace. “Let compassion prevails over hatred and let humanity triumph over vengeance”, it further added.

As followers of Christ, the LTF said it remains committed to upholding the principles of justice, peace, love, and mutual respect among all peoples. “We pray that these Christian values, exemplified by our Lord Jesus Christ, will guide our actions and inspire us to build a future marked by reconciliation and hope”, the LTF stated.
