Since its inception, MIYC has been working to promote youth participation in nation-building and to enhance Manipur’s political standing in the 21st century. The organisation has been actively engaged in human rights advocacy, political awareness, cultural promotion, and international outreach, contributing significantly to the welfare of the people of the state.

Among MIYC’s landmark initiatives are the Delhi Rally of August 13, 1997, organised to safeguard the territorial integrity of Manipur; the UN Day Rally held on October 24, 1999, which declared the enlistment of Manipur as an after-acquired Non-Self-Governing Territory of the United Nations; and the Manipur Cultural Festival, “A Mosaic of Culture”, organised in 1997 and 1998 to showcase the state’s rich cultural diversity.

The newly elected office bearers of MIYC are: M.K. Saroj Khan as President, Yaiphaba Khuman as Vice-President, Elangbam Praveenkumar as Secretary-General, Irabanta Kshetrimayum as Finance Secretary, Reena Thangjam as Secretary of the Women’s Cell, Hidangmayum Devdutta Sharma as Secretary for Information and Public Relations, Ngangbam Khugest as Secretary for Art and Culture, Yumlembam Shidangshu as Secretary for Organisation, Nongthombam Kanta Meitei as Secretary for Skills Development, and Laimayum Bhuton Sharma as Coordinator.

Reaffirming its commitment, MIYC stated that it will continue to work for the promotion and protection of human rights, youth empowerment, political awareness, cultural integrity, and constructive engagement at national and international levels for the overall development of Manipur.

The organisation clarified that it will not seek or solicit public donations. Funds will be raised solely through the publication and sale of its own materials such as books, greeting cards and calendars, and through the organisation of large-scale public programmes and events, in line with its objectives and principles.

Meanwhile, MIYC has also released its Annual Calendar of Work for 2026, outlining a comprehensive year-long roadmap focusing on human rights advocacy, international law, youth political education, international relations, and diplomacy.
