Minister Th Biswajit Singh repairs Imphal’s MC Mary Kom Road after years of neglect

MC Mary Kom Raod, named after the celebrated Indian boxer, Mary Kom which in the past was known as Imphal West DC Road leading towards the National Games village in Imphal has been repaired after years of neglect.

The three kilometer stretch of MC Mary Kom Raod repair and blacktopping work was done by Works Minister Th Biswajit Singh.

Local residents in and around games village and Langol in the past initiated crow funding to repair the dilapidated roads which is an important link road that connects the main Imphal secretariat and other offices and markets where the six time World Boxing Champion and London Olympic bronze medalist’s boxing academy is also situated in the games village – Mary Kom Regional Boxing Academy.

Mary Kom also know as ‘Meethoi Leima’ (exceptional lady) will be the flag bearers at the opening ceremony of Tokyo Olympics along side men’s hockey team skipper Manpreet Singh.
