Mizoram set to become ‘Ginger capital of India’

UKHRUL, NOV 26: The ‘Stakeholders Consultation for Mizoram Ginger Produce’ was held in New Delhi on Monday (November 24). The event was jointly organized by NITI Aayog and the Mizoram government.

The Consultation focused on ensuring quality and authenticity of ginger produce, promoting local value addition through technology adoption and importance of accessing global markets.

According to IMAR the Indian ginger market was worth around USD 111 million dollars (9000 crore) in 2024.

As Mizoram steadily emerges as one of the major-ginger producing states in the country,  has been recommended to be named as the ‘Ginger capital of India’, an official stated on Tuesday.
