Mother and Child Killed, Father Critically Injured in Tamenglong Landslide

Tamenglong: A tragic landslide in Dimthanlong Village, Tamenglong District, Manipur, claimed the lives of a 28-year-old mother, Duanjangliu Kamei, and her 2-year-old son. The landslide occurred at Tamenglong Ward No. 3, near Tamenglong College, around 11:30 PM on Monday.

The father, Ringsinlung Kamei, a police constable with the Manipur Police Department, sustained severe injuries when their house was destroyed by the falling debris. He has been transferred to a hospital in Imphal, where he is currently receiving treatment and remains in critical condition.

Ringsinlung’s brother, Chungkaingam Kamei, a Class 9 student, also sustained minor injuries in the incident. Following the landslide, the District Commissioner of Tamenglong, Angshim, along with senior police officials, religious leaders, and CSO leaders, visited the scene to offer their support and condolences to the affected family.
