New Delhi, Dec 26: The Indian National Congress party has appointed MP Mukul Wasnik as the senior observer for early assembly polls next year for the three northeastern states namely, Meghalaya, Tripura and Nagaland.

The appointment on December 26 included two observers each for 2023 polls in the three Northeast sates.
According to the All India National Congress press release on Monday stated that “The Hon’ble Congress president has appointed senior observer and observers for ensuing Assembly Elections-2023 for the respective states, with immediate effect.”

For Meghalaya state, MP from Kerala Benny Mehnan and former MP J.D. Seelam have been appointed as the observers; Former chief minister of Goa, Francisco Sardinha and MP K Jayakumar for Nagaland, while Arvinder Singh Lovely and party MP Abdul Khaleque have been appointed as observers for Tripura.
