Ukhrul, August 25: The Naga People’s Front (NPF) on Monday hailed the recent reconciliation gathering at Ungma village in Mokokchung, calling it a “ray of hope” for unity among Nagas and a step toward a lasting political solution.

The meeting, hosted by the Ao Senden and the Ungma community, brought together Naga Political Groups (NPGs), tribal organizations and the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR). The event culminated in the signing of the Ungma Statement, which the NPF described as a significant gesture of dialogue and understanding.

In a statement, the NPF praised the “tireless efforts” of the FNR, the guidance of tribal bodies and the hospitality of the host community, saying the convergence of diverse groups was proof that reconciliation is possible when leaders and citizens choose cooperation over conflict.

“The spirit shown at Ungma is a ray of hope for the Naga people and will strengthen the journey towards an honorable and lasting solution,” the party said.
