Bengaluru: The Naga Students’ Union Bangalore (NSUB) commemorated its 55th Annual Freshers’ Meet at St. Joseph’s University Auditorium under the theme “Nagas with a Purpose: Fostering the Culture of Giving Back.”
The event saw a turnout of over 1,500 attendees, including more than 150 freshers, along with dignitaries and representatives from various student organizations.

The Chief Guest, Temjen Imna Along, Minister of Tourism and Higher Education, Government of Nagaland, addressed the gathering, stressing the importance of education and unity among the Naga community. He encouraged students to strive for excellence at an individual and collective level. Messages of solidarity were also shared by ANSAM President Luikang Luckson and NSF President Medovi Rhi in absentia, who reiterated the significance of service in addressing the challenges faced by the Naga people.
Guest of Honour, Sarah Fathima, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Government of Karnataka, spoke about overcoming language barriers and urged the Naga students to positively contribute to the wider community.

In her welcome address, NSUB President Nungsangmongla Ozukum resonated with the theme of the event, stating, “Our aim is to create a lasting impact here, fostering goodwill and cooperation between the Naga students and the people of this city.”
The Freshers’ Meet featured a jubilant display of Naga culture, including folk dances, a cultural fashion show, soulful musical performances, and artistic presentations showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Naga community.
More than just a cultural celebration, the 55th Annual Freshers’ Meet 2024 reaffirmed the Naga community’s commitment to unity, service, and purpose, heralding a new chapter for the Naga students embarking on their academic journey in Bangalore.
