Night curfew along Assam-Nagaland border

Night curfew imposed as a precautionary measure to prevent occurrence of anti-social elements/extremist/unlawful activities coming across the Assam /Nagaland border in the belt of Sivasagar district.

Dimapur: Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Sivasagar, Assam has reinforced a night curfew from 6 pm to 6 am in the 5 km belt in Assam side of Sivasagar district of Assam bordering Nagaland state with effect from November 18, 2021 for a period of 60 days, an official report of the Nagaland government said today.

The ADM, Sivasagar in an order said night curfew has been imposed as a precautionary measure to prevent occurrence of anti-social elements/extremist/unlawful activities coming across the Assam /Nagaland border in the belt of Sivasagar district. The ADM, Sivasagar said movement of any person/ group of persons/any vehicular traffics are prohibited during the period of night curfew.

However, magistrates, security personnel of army/CRPF/police and civil officials deployed on duty are exempted from the purview of the prohibitory order.
