SENAPATI: The Women Department of the Mao Baptist Churches Association (MBCA) organized a Fellowship of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) on Wednesday at MBC Khredzüphimei Chakumai, bringing together members, caregivers, and church leaders under the theme “Khrista Vano Akua Mazhü Kothu” based on Ephesians 4:16.

The programme, witnessed the participation of 24 registered PwDs along with a large number of guardians and well-wishers. The event aimed to promote inclusivity, spiritual encouragement, and a deeper understanding of the dignity of every individual.

The fellowship began with praise and worship led by the MBC Kalinamei Youth, followed by a welcome and introduction delivered by Kaisa, Women Secretary, MBCA. The programme featured a variety of segments including solo performances, choreography, testimony sharing, and special presentations by members from different local churches.

The keynote message was delivered by Rev. Dr. Chekhrovei Cho-o, Executive Secretary, CBCC, with interpretation support from Kokho Niloni, Mission & Evangelism Secretary, MBCA. In his sermon, Rev. Cho-o emphasized that individuals with disabilities are not to be seen as less loved or cared for, but rather as recipients of even greater compassion and attention.

He reminded the gathering that no one is at fault for being born with a disability, stating that every individual is created intentionally by God. Quoting Psalms 139:13–14, he affirmed that all are “wonderfully made” and described each person as God’s masterpiece. He further stressed that all human beings possess equal dignity and warned that looking down on persons with disabilities is both wrong and sinful.

Highlighting the abilities of PwDs, he noted that their talents may differ from others, but are equally valuable. “We all have abilities, and our friends here have proven that they are capable in their own unique ways,” he said.

As a gesture of love and support, the host church, MBC Khredzüphimei Chakumai, presented each PwD attendee with a bag of home-harvested paddy rice, reflecting community care and solidarity.

The programme concluded with a special prayer led by K. Matia, Pastor, MBCA Prayer Centre, Mowzhu, and a closing prayer by A. Neli, Youth Secretary, MBCA.
