NPF candidate, Leishiyo Keishing unharmed after assassination attempt

Kamjong: In a surprise attempt to harm, damage or cause death, MLA Leishiyo Keishing, who is also the chairman of Hill Areas Committee (HAC), contesting Manipur Assembly polls from 43-Phungyar (ST) AC for Naga People’s Front escaped life attempt on him by unknown miscreants.

According to a Facebook feed from We support Leishiyo Keishing, a life attempt was allegedly made on the MLA between Nambashi Khullen and Nambashi Khunou while he on his way, returning after casting his vote.

The post from Leishiyo Keishing’s support group stated that “A bomb had been planted on the main road. The Honourable Chairman had a narrow escape as he had taken the short cut road to Nambashi Khunou at around 9 am today (05/03/22)”.

No organisation has claimed responsibility at the time of filing this report.
