UKHRUL: The Naga People’s Front (NPF) Central Headquarters and the Manipur State Unit have expressed profound grief and outrage over the killing of six innocent Naga civilians.

In a press statement issued today, the NPF Central Headquarters stated that the 6 innocent Naga victims were reportedly abducted by ‘suspected gunmen’ and subsequently killed in cold blood by an ‘armed gang’. Unequivocally condemning what it describes as a barbaric and inhuman act in the strongest possible terms, the NPF asserted that the act is not only a grave violation of human rights but also an assault on the conscience of all civilized society.

“The Naga people have long endured hardship in their pursuit of peace, justice, and dignity. At a time when our people yearn for reconciliation and a peaceful resolution to all unresolved issues, such senseless violence is deeply reprehensible and threatens the fragile peace in the region,” the NPF said. It also added that the loss of the six innocent lives is a loss to the entire Naga community.

The NPF General Headquarters also urges the Government of India and the Government of Manipur to immediately probe the matter and ensure that Justice is delivered to the victims without delay. An impartial and transparent investigation must be conducted to identify those responsible for this heinous crime and bring the perpetrators to book as per the law of the land, it said.

Further, it appeals to all communities to maintain calm and refrain from any retaliatory action that could escalate tensions. “Violence cannot and will not solve our problems. The Naga People’s Front reiterates its commitment to peace and calls upon all stakeholders and civil society to ensure the safety and security of all Naga people wherever they reside.

The NPF General Headquarters also expresses anguish and condemnation over the ‘uncivilized act of vandalism carried out at the NPF Manipur State Unit office in Senapati during the late hours of 10th June, 2026, by some unknown miscreants.”This incident is a disgrace before the eyes of the civilized world. At a time when Nagas everywhere are yearning for peace, reconciliation, and unity, such acts of violence and vandalism only serve to create disharmony and must be rejected by all right-thinking citizens,” it said while urging for an immediate and thorough investigation to identify those responsible and ensure that the culprits are brought to book at the earliest, as per the law of the land. It also appeals to all party workers and the general public to remain calm and not be provoked by such attempts to derail peace. The NPF will continue to stand firm in its service to the Naga people.

Additionally, the NPF Manipur State Unit, expressing its deep concern over the barbaric and cold-blooded murder by Kuki militants, stated that it was heartbreaking to learn that their lifeless bodies were hidden for 28 days. It is also described as most disturbing that such a reprehensible act occurred during a time when the people are yearning for peace and normalcy.

“This diabolical murder, devoid of morality and ethics, reveals the depravity of the perpetrators. Mindless violence aimed at destabilizing the peaceful coexistence of communities has no place in a civilized society. We firmly believe that violence will not resolve issues or undermine the collective will of the people to live together in peace, dignity, and harmony,” the statement continued.

They also appealed for reason and restraint, besides urging Naga families to remain strong during this difficult period in Naga history and to stand united in the fight for justice.
