Kohima/Ukhrul: The Naga People’s Front (NPF) has officially awarded the party ticket to K Timothy Zimik for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024 for the Outer Manipur Parliamentary constituency. The ticket presentation ceremony took place during the NPF ticket distribution event held at the NPF central office in Kohima on Thursday.

Expressing gratitude and honor to the party for placing their trust and faith in him, Zimik shared his mission if elected as a member of the Lok Sabha. He aims to raise the Naga issue in the Parliament and work towards finding a lasting solution for the Naga people.

Zimik emphasized why he chose the NPF party, stating, “This is the party that is also fighting for our Naga people. That’s why I want the party to be very strong and vibrant. To achieve vibrancy, we need to come together and unite.”

He also shared his intention to play a crucial role in bringing peace and harmony to the strife-torn state of Manipur.

“As far as peace and harmony are concerned, the five major communities in Manipur – Meitei, Nagas, Kuki, Nepali, and Muslims – have to coexist. To achieve this, we must find ways to foster perfect understanding among these communities. When disputes arise, dialogue is the only path to peace. I intend to play a very positive role in this regard,” he affirmed.

The award distribution ceremony was attended by party leaders, including its president Apong Pongener, NPF MLAs from Manipur Ram Muivah, and Leishiyo Keishing.
