NPO appreciates govt of Manipur ‘War on Drugs’ mission

Senapati: The Naga People’s Organization (NPO), Senapati extends their appreciation on “War on Drugs” campaign under the initiative of chief minister, N. Biren Singh BJP-led state government.

According to a statement issued from the Information & Publicity Wing of the NPO, it said that it is a welcoming campaign in the district and as the apex organization of the district, NPO assured to continue its steadfast stand in fight against drugs.

The NPO also congratulates various villages within the district that took voluntary action in destruction of poppy plantations within their jurisdictions.

The statement mentioned that NPO has been a beam of light in the fight against drug and its allied activities especially plantation of poppy in the district to preserve and conserve forest and its environment.

The organization said it has taken ardent actions in destruction of poppy plants within the district in collaboration with the office of the Superintendent of Police of the district in the past. The NPO also reminds the people of the district that there is a standing resolution of the organization endorsed by all the tribes of the district.

NPO further states to stand resolute in upholding what has been resolved and urged the people of the district to abstain from poppy plantation, peddling of drugs and usage of drugs or any other form of intoxication in the district while the organization assured to extend its full cooperation with the state government in the fight against drugs.
