UKHRUL: The National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-IM) has issued a press statement clarifying that it has no connection with the reported ambush on a convoy of the Indian Armed Forces at Nungshang River areas, Hungpung village, at around 1:30 PM today.
Also, it clarified that the attack allegedly carried out by an armed group suspected to be the breakaway Eastern Flank faction has no connection whatsoever with the NSCN/GPRN. “There exists no Eastern Flank in the Naga Army of the NSCN/GPRN,” the NSCN-IM stated.

“The NSCN/GPRN categorically states that it was neither involved in nor had any knowledge of the said incident. The organisation remains firmly committed to the Ceasefire Agreement with the Government of India and continues to uphold its responsibilities under the agreed ground rules,” it continued.
Further, the NSCN/GPRN reiterated that it shall never resort to any action that could undermine, derail, or sabotage the ongoing Indo-Naga political negotiations. The pursuit of an honorable and peaceful political solution remains the unwavering commitment of the NSCN/GPRN, it asserted.

The NSCN/GPRN unequivocally condemns all actions and activities that are detrimental to the peace process and the ongoing Indo-Naga political talks.
“At this crucial juncture, all stakeholders must exercise restraint and responsibility to ensure that the hard-earned progress made towards a peaceful resolution is not jeopardised by acts capable of creating mistrust and instability,” the press note concluded.
It may be mentioned that the Manipur Poliice also took to X saying, “Two personnel of Assam Rifles were martyred today in an ambush by suspected militants on NH-202 near Noungshong Kong village under Ukhrul-PS, Ukhrul district.”
