NSUI Manipur Organises ‘RIZZ RIDE’ Cycle Rally to Promote Drug-Free Manipur

IMPHAL: The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), Manipur State Unit, on Sunday organised ‘RIZZ RIDE’, a cycle rally themed “Drug Free Manipur”, in observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

The event was organised under the leadership of NSUI Manipur State President Joyson Kh. and under the guidance of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President O. Ibobi Singh.

The rally was flagged off at 6:00 a.m. from Kangla, Imphal, by Member of Parliament A. Bimol Akoijam, MLA K. Lokeshwor Singh, and MLA O. Surjakumar Singh. Senior Congress leaders, MPCC office bearers, and representatives of various frontal organisations and cells were also present at the launch.

More than 300 students, cyclists, and youth volunteers participated in the 25-kilometre ride from Kangla to Maibam Lokpa Ching. Participants carried banners and raised awareness slogans, including “Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life,” highlighting the importance of combating drug abuse and promoting healthy lifestyles among young people.

At the destination, participants were awarded finishing medals and provided refreshments. Certificates were also distributed to mark their participation in the event.

As part of the programme, participants took a pledge to remain drug-free and to spread awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse within their communities.

NSUI Manipur expressed gratitude to Manipur Police and volunteers for their support and coordination during the rally. The organisation also thanked the residents of Imphal for encouraging the participants along the route.

The rally formed part of NSUI Manipur’s efforts to promote awareness and community participation in the fight against drug abuse and illicit trafficking.
