Protestors condemn short Assembly session; burnt effigies of key Political Figures

Imphal: The Manipur Legislative Assembly session held yesterday was met with strong condemnation from members and volunteers of Singjamei Apunba Lup (SAL). In a powerful act of protest, they burned effigies of key political figures at Singjamei in the evening.

The leaders whose effigies were burned include Governor Anusuiya Uikey, Chief Minister N Biren, Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Thokchom Satyabratta, BJP President A. Sharda, and BJP North East in-charge Sambit Patra.

The protestors from SAL expressed their anger towards the BJP-led Manipur government for its failure to adequately address the ongoing crisis during the assembly session, which lasted only a few minutes. They accused the government of disregarding the voices and concerns of the people, implying that their cries were falling on deaf ears.
