Noney, Sept 25: The Rongmei Naga Students’ Organisation Manipur (RNSOM) has expressed concern over disruptions to the ongoing Tamenglong-Mahur road construction, attributing the disturbances to individuals demanding higher land compensation.

In a statement, the RNSOM emphasized the project’s significance for the people of Tamenglong, stating that it would connect the district to remote areas and promote equitable development alongside the rest of the state and nation. The organization condemned the actions of those attempting to hinder the project, describing them as irrational and detrimental to the long-standing aspirations of the community.

Additionally, the RNSOM extended gratitude to various officials, including Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and former Deputy Commissioner Armstrong Pame, for their support in the initiative. The organization appealed to civil groups, village associations, and the broader Tamenglong community to cooperate with authorities to ensure that the Tamenglong-Mahur road project proceeds without further obstructions.
