SAPO temporarily suspends indefinite bandh

Following the appeal by Tenyimi Peoples’ Organization (TPO) in a Presidential Council meeting held on March 29 along with its Board of Arbitrators (BOA), and Angami Public Organization, the Southern Angami Public Organization has temporarily suspended the bandh effective from March 31, 12:00 noon.

Southern Angami Public Organization (SAPO) had imposed bandh from March 21 till 23 which was converted to indefinite bandh from midnight March 23 along National Highway-2, which falls within Southern Angami jurisdiction in protest against non-withdrawal of security forces belonging to Manipur government deployed at Kezoltsa (Koziiri) and for continual undertaking of developmental activities by Manipur government which, SAPO said violated the standing agreement with the Tenyimi Public Organization (TPO) resolution until any final verdict is served at the disputed area.
