Sheikh Noorul Hassan appointed as NPP’s National Secy-Political Affairs; party stresses on need for a ‘Healing Touch’ in all party meeting

Imphal: The National People’s Party chief, Conrad Sangma has appointed Sheikh Noorul Hassan MLA from 4-Kshetrigao Assembly Constituency, Manipur as the National Secretary incharge Political Affairs with immediate effect.

“In exercise of power conferred upon me as president of the National People’s Party under Article 1 of the Constitution of NPP, I am pleased to appoint Shri. Sheikh Noorul Hassan, Hon’ble MLA, Manipur as National Secretary i/c Political Affairs until further orders with immediate effect. A line in reply accepting the above will be appreciated. With best wishes,” Conrad K. Sangma wrote.

Sources said Sheikh Noorul Hassan has accepted the appointment.

Meanwhile, chief minister of Meghalya Conrad Sangma also highlighted the all party meeting he attended called by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss about the prevailing situation in Manipur.

“The NPP has expressed its concern over the tension in Manipur and has urged GoI to take all the necessary steps to ensure peace returns to the State. NPP has requested GoI to ensure sufficient supply of relief materials and essential commodities to all the affected locations and the relief camps. Stringent action should be taken against any armed groups involved in violence to bring them under control,” tweeted Conrad.

NPP also stressed on the need for a ‘Healing Touch’ where state and center Govts., political parties, religious organisations reach out to every section of society to appeal for peace and unity in Manipur, he wrote.
