UKHRUL: The All Zeliangrong Students Union (AZSU-AMN) has appealed to the ZUF and NSCN-IM to shun violence and resolve differences through dialogue amid reports of repeated firing incidents between the two factions at Kaiphundai village in Tousem Sub-division of Tamenglong district, Manipur.
AZSU-AMN stated that it was deeply anguished and pained by the repeated firing incidents between ZUF and NSCN-IM at Kaiphundai village on Wednesday.
“The violence has affected innocent civilians, creating fear and uncertainty among the public,” AZSU-AMN said in a statement.

It urged the two factions to listen to the public’s plea and heed to the cry of the mothers, fathers, sisters, and brothers who are living in fear and uncertainty, while adding that as brothers and sisters of the Naga community, it is pained to see violence overshadow their aspirations and dreams for a peaceful and prosperous future.
Appealing to prioritize the safety and well-being of the people, the union urged ZUF and NSCN-IM to stop violence, respect the sentiment of the people, and give peace a chance.
“Let us resolve our differences through dialogue, not guns. Let us prioritize the safety and well-being of our people, our children, and our future generations. We appeal to your conscience, to your hearts, and to your sense of responsibility towards our community. Do not let the guns speak louder than the voices of our people. Do not let the blood of our innocent brothers and sisters be shed in vain,” the All Zeliangrong Students Union appealed.

It further appealed to them to refrain from further escalation and engage in peaceful talks.
“Let us come together and find a peaceful solution to our problems. Let’s work towards building a brighter future for our community, a future filled with peace, prosperity. and harmony. We appeal to ZUF and NSCN-IM to listen to the voice of reason, the voice of our people, and to the voice of God,” the students’ body stated while reiterating its appeal to give “peace a chance”.
