UKHRUL, NOVEMBER 23: The first rays of sun in the nation are received by Anjaw District’s Dong, a village in Arunachal Pradesh.

Arunachal calls on all to witness the virtually unexpolored village as it prepares to host the inaugural Sunrise festival. The festival will be held from December 29 to January 2, 2026.

The festival would offer ethnic cuisine, adventure activities, cultural and ecotourism events, in addition to showcasing the ethnic lifestyle as reported by State tourism officials.

Dong is located in the eastern most tip of India, 1,240 metres above seal level at the tri-junction of India, China and Myanmar.
