UKHRUL: The Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) has expressed deep concern and disappointment regarding the government’s lack of response following a 24-hour ultimatum issued on March 18, 2026. This deadline has passed without any clear, credible, or reassuring reply.
In a press statement released today, the TKS emphasized the urgency of the situation and the serious nature of the issues raised, noting that there has been no assurance regarding the safety and freedom of movement for the public along the NH-202 Imphal-Ukhrul Road.

“This continued silence raises serious questions about how committed the government truly is to addressing our concerns and ensuring the safety of its citizens,” the statement added.
The student body condemned the fact that they feel unsafe and uncertain in their own land, stating that it is unacceptable and shameful that they are unable to walk freely on the soil that rightfully belongs to them. This situation represents not only a failure of governance but also a direct assault on the dignity and rights of the people.
“Given the ongoing neglect and inaction, it has become imperative for the people to unite and make their voices heard. Silence at this critical moment will only encourage further disregard for our rights and security,” the TKS stressed.

The organization urged all civil groups, community leaders, and the general public to join in solidarity for a mass democratic procession scheduled for March 21, 2026, in Litan.
“We will not live in fear. We will not be indifferent. We will not accept injustice. Our safety, dignity, and rights are non-negotiable. If those in power fail to act, we will take matters into our own hands,” declared the Tangkhul apex student body.
