YFCI Imparts Pre-Armed Forces Recruitment Training at Khongnem Village

SENAPATI: The Youth For Corporate India (YFCI), a charitable institution, has been imparting pre-armed forces recruitment training at Khongnem village in Senapati district, Manipur to prepare local youth for careers in uniformed services and the corporate sector.

Established in 2019, the institute has helped over 500 youths secure employment in the Indian Armed Forces, paramilitary forces and multinational companies.

Addressing the media at the training centre, P Piju Mao, Retired Subedar Major and Honorary Lieutenant of the Indian Army, said he served the nation for 32 years before retiring. Motivated to continue serving society, he established YFCI in 2019 to provide basic pre-armed forces recruitment training to youths of the region.

He said more than 200 candidates have been recruited into various uniformed services, while over 300 candidates have secured jobs in multinational companies. Former trainees are currently serving in the Indian Army, Indian Navy and paramilitary forces, while others have been placed in aviation and hotel management sectors.

The selection for the first batch of 2026 was held on Monday. The five-month training programme, scheduled from February to June, will admit 50 candidates and includes physical training along with preparation for written examinations, particularly for constable and direct havildar-level recruitments.

The institute will also introduce security-related job training from this year. An admission fee of ₹5,000 is charged per candidate, along with a monthly mess fee of ₹2,500. The institute has four staff members, including teachers for English, general knowledge and moral science, and a cook.

Candidates from Ukhrul, Kamjong, Chandel, Tamenglong, Bishnupur and Sekmai also enrolled at the institute.
