AIZAWL, SEP 7 (SHABD): Mizoram’s final electoral roll published following the completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 has recorded a net increase of 6,963 electors, with 32,280 names deleted and 39,243 new electors added, taking the state’s total electorate to 8,35,869.
According to the Chief Electoral Officer’s office, the final roll comprises 4,03,179 male and 4,32,689 female electors, along with the state’s first third-gender elector.
The final roll marks an increase of 0.84 per cent over the draft electoral roll, which had 8,28,906 electors.

The SIR exercise began across Mizoram on May 20, 2026, following an order of the Election Commission of India. The draft roll was published on July 4, while the claims and objections period ended on September 2.
During the revision process, authorities scrutinised enumeration forms and processed applications submitted through Forms 6, 7 and 8, resulting in the addition of 39,243 electors and deletion of 32,280 names.
Among the Assembly constituencies, Tuichawng in Lawngtlai district recorded the highest number of electors at 37,236, while West Tuipui in Lunglei district had the lowest at 14,667.
Aizawl North-I recorded the highest increase, with 1,394 electors added, while West Tuipui registered the largest decline, with 1,800 fewer electors than in the draft roll.
Aizawl North-II recorded the highest female-to-male ratio, with 1,221 female electors for every 1,000 male electors, while West Tuipui recorded the lowest ratio at 848 females per 1,000 males.

Separately, the final electoral rolls for Aizawl district were formally published today by District Election Officer (DEO) Er. Lalhriatpuia.
The final roll shows 2,78,114 electors across the district’s 12 Assembly constituencies, comprising 1,28,539 male and 1,49,575 female voters. Female voters outnumber male voters by 21,036.
The district recorded a net increase of 5,748 electors, or 2.11 per cent, compared with the draft roll.
Aizawl North-I recorded the highest increase in the district, with 1,394 additional electors. Bawngkawn-V was the largest polling station, with 1,234 electors, while Chhanchhuahna had the lowest at 73.
Hard copies of the final electoral rolls were handed over to representatives of recognised political parties at the DC Office Hall.
The DEO thanked election officials, NGOs and political parties for their cooperation in completing the revision exercise.
The final roll was originally scheduled for publication on September 6, but was released on September 7 as the scheduled date fell on a Sunday.
The CEO’s office urged voters to verify their names in the final roll and submit Forms 6, 7 or 8, wherever necessary. Appeals against decisions of Electoral Registration Officers can be filed before the District Magistrate within 15 days of publication of the final roll, with further appeal to the Chief Electoral Officer as prescribed under the rules.
