UKHRUL, SEP 8: Two students of Asufii Christian Institute (Autonomous), Punanamei, Mao, Senapati district, represented Manipur at a national consultative meeting on the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) organised by UNICEF YuWaah on September 4.
The students — Ashihrii Athihrii, fifth semester, Department of Political Science, and Athikho Esha, fifth semester, Department of Mathematics — took part in discussions on the design and implementation of the internship scheme.
The meeting brought together young people from across the country, along with officials from UNICEF YuWaah and the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India.

A major focus of the consultation was access to internship opportunities for young people from rural, remote and underserved areas. Participants discussed ways to make such opportunities more accessible to youth from different geographical and socio-economic backgrounds.
The PMIS seeks to provide young people with work experience and exposure to professional environments to help them develop practical skills and prepare for employment.
ACI said the participation of its students was significant as the institute serves students from rural and remote areas. It said the consultation gave the two students an opportunity to share their experiences and views on issues concerning youth, employment and access to opportunities.
The institute congratulated Ashihrii Athihrii and Athikho Esha on their participation in the national consultation.
