A six-days Poula dialects dictionary workshop successfully completed

Senapati: A six-days Poula dialects dictionary workshop was organized from November 21 to 26 by the Poumai Literature Society under the chairmanship of Dr. N Ngupani Tao. The training was conducted at the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Senapati. Representatives from almost all the Poumai Naga villages attended the workshop.

The dialects dictionary once published will be a reference book for any literary writing in the coming days. Members of the Literature Society along with Dr. Sahiinii L. Veikho, a postdoctorall researcher from the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS, Paris) were the resource persons in the event.

The workshop was organized to primarily support community members to come up with a consistent spelling system–particularly the tone marking in the alphabets.  The Organiser expresses their sincere thanks to Sir. Y. Subhaschandra Singh (Scientist-E, Officer-in-Charge, NIELIT Senapati Extension Centre) and Miss KL RITA KHO  (Faculty at NIELIT Senapati Extension Centre) for their support and alotment of their office space and systems for the said program.
