Board exam for Class 12 begins; 28,400 candidates appearing at 118 exam centres across the state

Senapati: The HSSLC (Class-12) offline mode examination of the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) has started from today and will continue till 5 May.

The offline mode examination of Class-12 is held at 118 centres and a total of 28,400 students are appearing. Of this total, 8,203 are from the arts stream while 19,629 are from the science stream and 568 from the commerce stream.

28,400 students are writing their exam today out of which, 8,203 are from the Arts stream, 19,629 from Science and 568 from Commerce stream.

Out of 28,400 students appearing the examination, 14,430 are boys while 13,970 are girl students.

Official sources said that authorities of COHSEM had taken all necessary steps to conduct the examinations in a free and fair manner with strict adherence to the COVID-19 SOPs and guidelines.

In Senapati district alone, 1,393 candidates are appearing at the said exam at five different exam centres — 472 candidates at Mt. Pisgah Hr. Sec., Senapati, 228 candidates at Don Bosco Hr. Sec., Senapati, 129 candidates at Don Bosco Hr. Sec., Punanamei, Mao, 438 candidates at Don Bosco Hr. Sec., Maram and 126 candidates at Asufii Christian Institute, Punanamei, Mao.

Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh, different ministers and MLAs of the state and different student apex bodies of the state had extended their best wishes to all the students appearing the exam.
