Cycle Rally From Pallel To Kangla Fort Imphal held

Short Cycle Rally from Pallel to Kangla Fort Imphal covering a distance of more than 100 km as part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ was organized by Chandel Battalion Assam Rifles under Col. Ajit Khatre & Major Sudhan in collaboration with Chandel Cycling Club (C3) headed by Telein Bingky and team on Thursday.

At about 6:00 am, after the juice break and distribution of C3 T-shirts, the cycling team headed for Pallel. The team was flagged off at Pallel by Brig. Ajay Singh Rana, CDR, 26 Sector Assam Rifle. As a mark of appreciation, the Chandel Cycling Club also handed a beautiful momento to Brigadier Ajay Rana Singh and Colonel Ajit Khatre of 18AR in commemoration of ’75th India Independence Day’ honouring the freedom fighters before the flagged off moment.

The cycle rally team reached Imphal and was joined by members of the Manipur Adventure And Mountain Biking Association. The combined team visited Kangla Fort on foot for a historical tour of the site including a photo session and friendship building conversations over a cup of tea and refreshment. Thanks to Deputy Commisioner, Chandel for the permission sought for the visiting team in advance.

The team on their returned home was welcome for a delightful lunch at Pallel Assam Rifle Camp. The short cycle rally ended on a very positive note as the participating members particularly the youths of Chandel enjoyed such engaging ride and taking home the significance of good health and eco-friendly coexistence message.

Ts. Chamna Anal, President of District Sports Association Chandel (DSA-Chandel) and Chandel Football Friends (CFF) wishing the best in the CFF Whatsapp group wrote “I wish all the participants a very best and successful cycle rally. May almighty God protect you all and give you more strength and guide you till the rally is completed.” He also acknowledged special thanks to the Deputy Commisioner, Chandel M. Rajkumar and the commandant, 18 AR Chandel Col. Ajit Khatre for taking all the initiative in conducting today’s ‘Rally Bon Voyage.’

Telein Bingky, the founder of C3 speaking to Ukhrul Times correspondent said, “He is delighted that the second official rally of the club was successful ended and more of such cycle rally covering bigger distance within and outside the state are strongly embedded in the itinerary of C3 in the days to come.
