SENAPATI: Giving an early start to its academic pursuits, the Hills Academy of Science (HAS), Senapati, has commenced its academic session for 2026–27. The institution kicked off the new session with an Orientation Programme for Class XI and XII students at its Kathikho Karong campus in Senapati.
The programme was attended by students, faculty members and invited guest speakers. The event was chaired by P. Duna Duo, Honorary President of the Hudumachi Trust, the management body of the institution.
Addressing the gathering, Duo congratulated the newly admitted students on successfully completing their board examinations and applauded them for choosing the science stream, where they would need to work even harder to excel. He encouraged the students to approach higher secondary education with commitment, discipline and a willingness to embrace new challenges.

The institute’s commitment to academic excellence and holistic personality development was highlighted during the orientation programme. Faculty members and the management also shared the institution’s vision of equipping students with essential life skills, including communication, confidence, leadership, character building and career preparedness.
As part of the programme, two distinguished guest speakers from the fields of education and career development interacted with the students.
Worrin Muivah, Founder of STEP Academy, Dimapur, known for mentoring young students in interpersonal skills development, conducted the first session. He spoke on the importance of communication skills, self-confidence and personal growth. Making the session lively and interactive, Muivah encouraged students to cultivate positive habits and develop the soft skills necessary to succeed in an increasingly competitive world.
Bani Rong, Managing Director of Lifeline Coaching Institute, Senapati, who has played a key role in guiding many successful NEET candidates from the district, addressed the students on NEET/JEE preparation and opportunities in the medical field. He stressed the importance of building strong academic foundations during Classes XI and XII and shared practical strategies for achieving this. He also advised students to maintain consistency in their preparation for competitive examinations.

The school management stated that similar programmes and interactions with professionals from various fields would continue throughout the academic year. It added that collaborations with external organisations would also be explored to provide students with broader learning opportunities and greater career exposure.
The programme concluded with a renewed commitment from the institution to nurture academically competent, confident and socially responsible students prepared for higher education and future careers.
