Indian Army, CRPF and Manipur Police Conduct Operation in Kangpokpi

Ukhrul, March 7: The Indian Army along with CRPF, BSF and Manipur Police carried out Operation in Kagpokpi to deny launchpad to miscreants involved in Disruption of NH-2 Traffic

On a specific intelligence, Cordon and Search Operation was launched in Khengang Village, Kangpokpi against miscreants carrying out nefarious activities on NH-2. Joint team of Indian Army, CRPF and Manipur Police participated in the operation. An arms cache of two SLR rifles, three live SLR rounds, two country made pompis, 59 live rounds of 12 Bore rifle, one Hand Held Radio Set and one Helmet were captured during the successful conduct of the operation. Twelve Miscreants’ bunkers were also destroyed in the operation.

The operation has denied a major base to miscreants who were known to be extorting money and disrupting the traffic on NH-2. The area was later occupied by one company of CRPF to ensure that it is not misused in the future. This operation earmarks the joint commitment of Security Forces and Police towards ensuring safe movement of civilians on NH-2 from Imphal upto General Area of Sapermeina.
