Conveying the New Year message to all Naga people, the Collective Leadership of the National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN) said that “nothing will be more sensible for the Naga people than to humble ourselves before God to let Him take the Nagas to take the lead to the path of reconciliation.”

The press release of the Collective Leadership issued through the Yaruiwo Q. Tuccu further said that with the dawn of the New Year the Nagas should reflect on the past year and define who they were for the Nagas.

“Let us not be afraid to start a new chapter and set a golden milestone to mark the beginning of our march towards Naga political solution,” maintained the statement.

The statement of the Collective Leadership went on to call the Naga people to honour the leaders who had shown the way forward; honour the spirits of hundreds of thousands of Naga martyrs who had inspired to carry on the struggle; and humbly acknowledge that the struggle was based on God-given right and that they must have the courage to run the course pleasing before His sight.

“We need God’s hands to make us understand that unity is the only way forward. Let us live up to our slogan ‘Nagaland for Christ,’” exhorted the statement. The Collective Leadership statement reminded that it was the slogan that had been the guiding light throughout seven-decade struggle.

The statement also exhorted that it was high time that the Nagas reconcile with Almighty God and go for Naga reconciliation which was more sagacious and appreciable to take forward for the final solution.

“The Collective Leadership is of the conviction that no solution will be honourable in the absence of God because we are His chosen people,” concluded the statement.
