Tamenglong: Thousands of Liangmai people converged at Tamei in Tamenglong district from December 15 to December 17 and celebrated the “Liangmai Christian Centenary”.

It was a three-day mammoth gathering where Liangmai people from far and near came to celebrate the event.

“When the Gospel of Christ was delivered into the land of Liangmai, young Maisiging Newmai, born Hulungbou Newmai from Taningjam village, embraced the gospel on September 16, 1923. He was the first son of Liangmai to become Christ’s follower and gradually as his faith grew stronger, he began to evangelize his people into the gospel,” said the Liangmai Christian Centenary Celebration (LCCC), Manipur.
