Manipur CM Visits Senapati, Holds Meeting with UNC, Inspects Development Projects

SENAPATI: Manipur chief minister Y. Khemchand Singh visited Senapati district on Wednesday, where he held a closed-door meeting with the executive members of the United Naga Council (UNC) and inspected key development projects in Mao.

The chief minister arrived at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Senapati at around 9:30 a.m. and held discussions with the UNC executive in the presence of the Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of Police of Senapati.

While travelling to Senapati from Imphal, the chief minister’s convoy was met by people carrying black flags, at Liangmai Taphou demanding justice for the six Naga civilians who were abducted on May 13, 2026, and whose bodies were later recovered in a mutilated and dismembered condition.

The demonstrators urged the government to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation, arrest all those responsible in accordance with the law, and take immediate and effective steps to ensure justice for the victims and their bereaved families.

After the meeting in Senapati, the chief minister proceeded to the Regional Potato Farm at Mao, where he interacted with officials of the Horticulture Department and reviewed ongoing activities. He interacted with the officials and local residents regarding the Mao Water Supply Scheme project.
