Manipur total COVID-19 death toll reaches 191 on Friday

Two deaths in the last 24 hours in Manipur pushed the COVID-19 fatality tally of the state to 191. Both the deceased were from Imphal West district, a press release of the COVID-19 Common Control Room said on Friday.
The COVID-19 case tally of the state also rose to 19,891 after 166 fresh cases were confirmed as fresh cases during testing of 2,869 samples in the last 24 hours, it also said.

Meanwhile, with the discharge of 342 patients, the number of COVID-19 recovered patients in the state increased to 16,092. The recovery rate of the state stands at 80.90%, it added.

The state has now only 3,608 active cases of COVID-19. Among them, 301 are CAPF personnel.

The press release categorized the new 159 persons (85M, 74F) from the general population as locally contracted cases as they have no recent significant travel history.
