Imphal: The Nagaram area of Imphal continues to grapple with the aftermath of recent floods, which have left parts of the region submerged due to blocked drains. Despite the cessation of rain, stagnant floodwaters persist, creating significant challenges for residents and businesses.

Knee-deep floodwaters still inundate parts of Nagaram and the Manipur Apex Co-operative Marketing Society Limited Complex. The area is plagued by a stench from stagnant water, decaying plant matter, and accumulated trash, causing severe inconvenience to local businesses.

The flood has inflicted considerable damage on Siroi Offset Printers, located within the complex. Expensive machinery worth crores of rupees has been damaged, and printed materials, including books for students and other documents, have been ruined. Siroi Offset Printers has urgently appealed to the government for assistance to recover from these substantial losses. Various shops within the complex have reported extensive damage to their merchandise, and several four-wheeler vehicles have been submerged and rendered unusable by the floodwaters. The continued water-logging has raised concerns about the potential outbreak of infectious diseases in the area.

Local residents and business owners are urging the government to address the situation promptly. They call for immediate measures to unblock drains, facilitate the removal of stagnant water, and provide aid to those affected by the flood to prevent further deterioration of living conditions and health risks in Nagaram.
