According to sources within the party, the meeting deliberated on strategies to strengthen its organisational structure across the three Assembly constituencies in Ukhrul and Kamjong districts, with emphasis on grassroots mobilisation and improved coordination within party ranks.
The unit also raised serious concern over the reported presence of armed militants in Mongkot-Chepu and Shangkhai areas along the Ukhrul–Imphal stretch of National Highway-202. It urged both the State and Central governments to take immediate and decisive action, stating that such developments pose a threat to public safety and disrupt the daily lives of residents in the two districts.
The NPP unit maintained that the situation undermines fundamental rights guaranteed under Articles 19 and 21 of the Constitution, particularly the freedom of movement and the right to life and security.
Additionally, the unit called for a thorough and transparent investigation into the utilisation of funds allocated as monthly stipends to Kuki groups under the Suspension of Operations (SoO) agreement. Referring to reports that over Rs. 30 crore has been sought by the Manipur Home Department, the party stressed the need to ensure that such funds are not misused.
