Piku Chalai Awarded SBI Chairman’s Club Campaign Award 2024-25, First from Northeast

Senapati, Oct 16: In a first for the Northeast, SBI Maram Branch Manager K. Piku Chalai, 39, son of Kashiprii Chalai and a native of Emesiiphro Village, Senapati District, has been awarded in the “Yes I Can Change” campaign category under the SBI Chairman’s Club Award 2024-25 in Mumbai.

The award recognises his tireless and creative efforts in advancing the “Yes I Can Change” SBI campaign across his various postings. Piku Chalai is the youngest brother of former NEC Secretary and senior IAS officer Moses Chalai, now Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Government of India.

Piku Chalai’s award is one of only five SBI employees selected from across the country and the only recipient from Northeast India. The honor includes a citation, cash incentives, and a family trip to the prestigious Taj Hotel, Mumbai.

The Chairman’s Club Award for the “Yes I Can Change” campaign category was instituted in 2022. Piku Chalai is the first from the North-East States to receive this recognition to date.

Piku’s journey as an SBI employee began at Lairouching Branch, where he creatively decorated the office and developed a public-friendly environment. He was later posted to Senapati Branch, where he redesigned the entrance and common waiting areas with a people-friendly setup blended with traditional structures and furniture.
