Zhato Kimho, Convenor of the Planning Committee, described the event as the biggest community gathering for the Piphema villages, serving as the only common platform where the three villages; Piphema Old, Piphema New, and Piphema A come together to honor and celebrate their collective achievements every five years. Previously held every three years, the event was restructured to occur every five years to allow for a larger, more meaningful celebration.

Kimho explained that “Rüpfhünuo” represents the unity of the entire Piphema population, including in-laws, as they assemble to recognise individual and community progress, particularly in fields such as education and sports.
