SENAPATI: People of Senapati welcomed chief minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Wedneday with black flags as a mark of protest, demanding justice for the six abducted Naga civilians who were killed.
The protesters urged the Government to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation, arrest all those responsible in accordance with the law, and take immediate and effective steps to ensure justice for the victims and their bereaved families.
They also called upon the authorities to uphold the rule of law and ensure that those responsible are held accountable.
The six Naga civilians were abducted on 13 May 2026 at Leilon Vaiphei village reportedly, by the village women folk led by Lalboy Vaiphei, the village chief, and were subsequently handed over to the KNF-P. The bodies were later recovered in a mutilated and dismembered condition.
