Three security forces of 4th Assam Rifles killed

UT News Service | Chandel, July 30: Reliable sources has confirmed of three security forces of 4th Assam Rifles killed and six others were severely injured in an ambush by underground outfit cadres at Khongtal near Myanmar border under Chakpikarong Police Station of Chandel District. Till the time of filing this report no insurgent groups have claimed responsibility behind the attack.

According to Police Sources of Chandel District, the armed cadres attacked the Assam Rifle personnel while they were returning to their respective camp at around 6.30 on Wednesday evening.

Heavy sophisticated weapons besides IED were used in the attacked by the armed groups in the ill-fated incident. They have been evacuated by helicopters of the IAF today morning. The deceased paramilitary personnel are identified as:

1) YM Konyak from Nagaland
2) Ratan Salam from Kakching, Manipur
3) P Kalita from Assam
