Ukhrul: The Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) under the aegis of United Naga Council (UNC), Naga Women Union (NWU), All Naga Student’s Association, Manipur (ANDAM) enforced a one-hour emergency total shutdown in Ukhrul headquarters on Tuesday from 11 am till 12 pm.
The total shutdown was enforced to show solidarity to the public rally that was being organised at Puiluan village under Nungba subdivision on Tuesday in protest against the alleged planting of IED explosive by a personnel of CRPF in connivance with Assam Rifles at Puiluan (Kambiron) village on September 24, 2022 under Tamanglong district.

“Few days ago we had organized a mega really to repeal the draconian Armed Forces (Special Powers) 1958 Act, but instead of cooperating and addressing the appeal, the Government of India, devised such unacceptable counter act”, said Shimri Raising, TKS president.
“We condemn in absolute terms the unacceptable act of the Indian security forces whose job is to safeguard the lives of the civilians”, he added.
The rally at Puiluan village was organized jointly by Rongmei Naga Student Organosation Manipur (RNSOM), Rongmei Naga Council Manipur (RNCM), RNLPM, NAVAA and NAJAC under the aegis of the United Naga Council (UNC), the Naga Women Union (NWU) and the All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur (ANSAM).
