SENAPATI: The Mao Students’ Union (MSU) has condemned the circulation of what it termed “unverified and provocative materials” targeting the leadership of the Senapati District Students’ Association (SDSA), especially its president Saloni Toni.
MSU in a statement issued on May 16, said such circulation was creating misunderstanding, communal tension, and hatred at a time when the state continues to face a sensitive situation.

The Mao union said SDSA has played an active role since the beginning of the conflict by participating in humanitarian initiatives, facilitating the release of hostages, and extending humanitarian and health-related assistance in affected areas.
MSU alleged that defamatory content and “malicious propaganda” were being directed against SDSA president Saloni Toni without credible evidence.
“Such reckless attempts to malign individuals and organisations that have rendered humanitarian service are unacceptable and only serve to inflame tensions, spread hatred, and endanger public stability,” the statement said.

The MSU further condemned what it described as the “targeting and character assassination” of SDSA leaders through false social media circulation, and urged people not to spread misinformation and baseless allegations.
Expressing solidarity with SDSA and its leadership, the Mao Students’ Union said it would firmly oppose any act of intimidation, harassment, or injustice against the organisation’s leaders arising out of such allegations.
