CHANDEL: Leaders of the Monsang Naga community under the aegis of Sirti Upa Ruh (Monsang Tribe Union) on Wednesday visited the Makhan Relief Camp wherein the families of six Naga civilians who were brutally killed by Kuki militants after abducting them at Leilon Vaiphei village on May 13, 2026, are sheltered.
This solidarity visiting programme of Monsang Naga Leaders to Makhan Naga village had a prayer programme together with the bereaved families and local community Leaders at Makhan village.
During this meeting programme, the Monsang president, Ng Benithan, president, Sirti Upa Ruh (Monsang Tribe Union) strongly condemned the brutal killing of those 6 innocent Naga civilians in the strongest term. Further, the leaders urged and demanded the state government for justice.

“The state government must arrest the culprits at the earliest time and deliver justice. Why the state government and the law enforcing agencies are remaining silent till today”, the Monsang leaders questioned and reiterated their stand and support to the Chapters of Demand being made by Naga people under the aegis of United Naga Council (UNC) in regard to this cruel murder which is a crime against the humanity.
The Monsang Naga leaders also extended help in the form of essential commodities and some monetary help, among others.
This visiting programme included the leaders from Monsang Tribe Union, Monsang Women Union, Monsang Students Union, Monsang villages chiefs, all the Monsang Christian leaders, Church elders and other CSOs leaders.
The programme was moderated by Upa Sh. Micky Victor, general secretary, SUR. Monsang leaders namely, Upa Ng. Gilbert, advisor, Sirti Upa Ruh (Monsang Tribe Union); Upa Sh. Manglem Monsang, former ADC member, Chandel; Sanuw W. Chancila, president, Sirti Sanuw Ruh (Monsang Women Union) and Sapa Gedion Kiirii, president, Sirti Thiimjiitam Sourkhe (Monsang Naga Students’ Union) also spoke during the interaction meeting related to issue in condemning the brutal killing of those six innocent Naga brothers.
A short Gospel sharing and prayer for the victims’ families, IDPs who are sheltered presently at Makhan Relief Camp and also for the villagers of Konsakhul Liangmai Naga village was led by Upa Rev. K. Kumar , Pastor, Japhou Baptist Church, MNBCA.
The programme was preceded with prayer by Rev. John Khartu, Evangelist, JBC. After words of gratitude from the chairman of Makhan Village Authority, the programme was closed with prayer by Rev. M. Wizunang, Pastor, Makhan Baptist Church.
