UKHRUL, July 10, 2026: The Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL), along with its frontal organisations, on Friday officially revoked the non-cooperation resolution imposed against the Wung Tangkhul Region (WTR), NSCN/GPRN, bringing to a close more than three months of strained relations within the Tangkhul community following the Hongbei incident.
The non-cooperation resolution was imposed on March 31, 2026, by the apex Tangkhul civil society body, TNL, along with the Tangkhul Naga Awunga Long (TNAL), Tangkhul Shanao Long (TSL), Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS), and Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long (TMNL), demanding justice for the killing of four cadres at Hongbei on March 28.

Following months of efforts to resolve the impasse, a joint coordination meeting convened on July 7 under the directive of the TNL President, with the participation of the victims’ families, resolved to formally withdraw the non-cooperation resolution.
The revocation programme held on Friday was marked by prayers and a collective call for reconciliation. Rev. Remember Rimai, Convener of the Baptist Churches Forum, Ukhrul, and Rev. Mayonsing Moinao, Pastor of the Ukhrul Baptist Church (UBC), offered prayers, invoking peace, healing and divine justice.
Speaking to reporters after the programme, TNL president Sword Vashum said the community must move beyond the conflict and work towards unity.
“The non-cooperation against WTR has now been revoked. That must not be the way forward,” Vashum said.
Expressing gratitude to all those who worked towards the resolution, he added, “We have now come to the end of this. We have completely submitted ourselves to the final verdict of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We leave the final verdict in God’s hands.”
The withdrawal of the non-cooperation resolution is expected to pave the way for renewed engagement between the Tangkhul civil bodies and the WTR, and is being seen as a significant step towards reconciliation and restoring normalcy within the Tagnkhul Naga community.
