Thawai Kuki Village Chief Resigns from Kuki National Organisation, Issues Declaration

Ukhrul, April 8: The chief of Thawai Kuki village under Kamjong District in a declaration issued on March 20, 2025 said that he is no longer associated with the Kuki National Organisation/Kuki National Army, stating that he resigned from his post as Lieutenant (Army no. 00132) on February 13, 2025.

The declaration read, “I Khailun Haokip, Chief of Thawai Kuki, Phungyar Block, Kamjong District, hereby declare that I am no longer associated with the KNO/KNA. I resigned from my position as Lieutenant (Army No. 00132) on 13th February 2025, as per Ref. No. ZG/KNA 02/23, and have been officially relieved from my duties.”

The same was corroborated by another notice issued by the president of Kuki National Army, (Government of Zalengam) PS Haokip on February 13, 2025 stating, “Lieutenant Khailun Haokip is, hereby, relieved from KNA as his elderly father needs looking after at home. His contribution to the KNA is appreciated On behalf of his former colleagues and the organisation, I wish him best wishes.”
