Kangpokpi: Union Home Minister, Amit Shah visited Kangpokpi district today and held a meeting with the civil society organisations. The civil society organisations submitted a joint memorandum to the Union Home minister.

Later, Amit Shah visited the ITI relief centre and interacted with the people taking shelter at the camp.
The Union Home Minister was accompanied by Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai, BJP National Spokesperson Dr Sambit Patra, Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Director General Assam Rifles Lt General Pradeep Chandran Nair, Director of IB Tapan Kumar Deka, Director General of Police Manipur P. Doungel and other officials.

The ministerial team was accorded warm welcome by Cabinet Minister Nemcha Kipgen, Saikul MLA Kimneo Haokip Hangshing, ,Deputy Commissioner Mahesh Chaudhari, Superintendent of Police Manoj Prabhakar, and other officials, including officers of the district administration.
Shah who is on a mission to restore normalcy and peace during his three-day visit in ethnic strife-torn Manipur is attempting to take necessary action to improve the law-and-order situation and build confidence among the public. He arrived in Manipur on Monday night.
