UKHRUL/BENGALURU: The Naga Students’ Union Bengaluru (NSUB) organised a candlelight vigil on Sunday evening at Paalanaa Bhavana in memory of Late Chinaoshang Shokwungnao of Tushar Village, Late Yaruingam Vashum of Kharasom Village, and Late Horshokmi Jamang of Chatrik Khullen.
The vigil, which began at around 6:30 PM, drew close to 300 attendees and served as a space for collective mourning, reflection, and solidarity.
The programme opened with an invocation by Pastor Tamalong Pongen of the Naga Christian Fellowship Bangalore (NCFB), setting a solemn tone for the evening. The proceedings were led by Eno Vilhu Chalieu, President of the Angami Students’ Union Bangalore (ASUB).

Delivering a message of solidarity, Eno Yuikan Shirik, founder of Neurons Designs Pvt. Ltd. and a senior member of the Tangkhul community, stressed the importance of unity among Nagas, urging communities to stand together with compassion and mutual respect during times of grief.
NSUB General Secretary Eno Kumlanthung Murry, in his address, stated: “Let this gathering send a message strong and clear, that we will not be divided by fear. That we will not turn away in silence. And that we will continue to stand for truth, justice, and peace.”

The vigil concluded with a benediction by Pastor Livingson Rakhangmi of the Thangal Fellowship Bangalore (TFB).
NSUB stated that the vigil was strictly non-political in nature and aimed solely to provide a respectful and inclusive space for mourning and remembrance. The event focused on honouring the departed and fostering unity within the community during a time of grief.
The gathering served as a reminder of the strength found in unity during times of sorrow, and the importance of standing together with compassion and respect, added NSUB.
