SENAPATI: Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho, accompanied by Naga legislators Kumo Sha, Ram Muivah, Khashim Vashum, Leishiyo Keishing, Awangbow Newmai and Janghemlung Panmei, visited the United Naga Council (UNC) office on Monday to discuss the prevailing issues concerning the Naga community.
The meeting commenced at around 10:00 am at the UNC office in Senapati, where representatives of the UNC and the Naga legislators held deliberations on the current situation and concerns affecting the community.
Speaking to the media, Dikho said the delegation had come to understand the demands submitted by the UNC to the Government of Manipur (GoM) and to explore ways of resolving the issue.

“We came here to understand the UNC’s demand put forward to the Government of Manipur to settle the issue,” Dikho stated.
Representing the state government, he said the discussions were aimed at finding a solution that would pave the way for an honourable funeral for the six Naga civilians who were killed recently. Dikho noted that the UNC had issued an ultimatum, stating that the bodies of the deceased would not be accepted until their demands were fulfilled.
“The UNC has given an ultimatum that until and unless their demand has been fulfilled they are not going to accept the bodies of the deceased. Thus, the NIA and GOM has intensified their actions,” he stated.

The United Naga Council has put forward the following key demands:
- Abrogation of the Suspension of Operations (SoO) Agreement with all Kuki militant groups.
- Immediate arrest and prosecution of all Kuki National Front-President (KNF-P) personnel allegedly involved in the abduction of 18 Naga civilians, including two pastors, from Leilon Vaiphei village on May 13, 2026, and the subsequent killing of six of them. The UNC has also demanded action against those responsible for the killing of Wilson Thanga Chiru at Joujangtek on the same day.
- Immediate arrest and prosecution of Lalboi Vaiphei, Chief of Leilon Vaiphei village, along with all others allegedly involved in the abduction of the 18 Naga civilians.
- Declaration of the Kuki National Front-President (KNF-P) as a terrorist organisation.
- Immediate removal of Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen from office. The UNC alleges that her husband, Semtinthang alias Thangboi Kipgen, President of the KNF-P, is complicit in the killings. The council stated that her removal would help restore public trust and confidence in the state government and address concerns regarding the integrity of internal security administration.
The meeting between the state government representatives and the UNC is expected to play a significant role in determining the next course of action regarding the ongoing crisis and the demands raised by the Naga civil body.
